Currently, Destination Cinema owns and operates five giant screen destination theaters in North America. Constructed at high-profile tourist locations, these giant screen entertainment centers provide state-of-the-art educational and entertainment enrichment to destination visitors.

Grand Canyon, Arizona
Located in Grand Canyon, Arizona, at the south rim entrance of the Grand Canyon National Park, the National Geographic Visitor Center is a “must-see” first stop before visiting this natural wonder of the world. It’s also the first step to making the most of what will be the experience of a lifetime. The National Geographic Visitor Center features: 500 seat IMAX Theater featuring “Grand Canyon: Hidden Secrets,” a 2,500 square-foot National Geographic outfitter store, National Geographic exhibits and maps, National Park Interpretive Services and Park Passes, 155-seat indoor restaurant with an additional 75 outdoor seats, Pink Jeep Tours, and the Arizona Office of Tourism

Results: The National Geographic Visitor Center is the most visited attraction in the Grand Canyon located outside the National Park.
San Simeon, California
The Hearst Castle Theater is truly an amazing movie experience as it features the destination film “Hearst Castle: Building a Dream.” Its iWERKS screen is eight times the size of conventional movie screens, delivering unforgettable, breathtaking images, as extravagant as the castle itself. The 400-seat theater is equipped with 7-channel, digital surround sound, which, along with the screen’s startlingly realistic visual images, creates a sense of motion and interaction with the movie.
The theater also features a number of artifacts in the lobby including 17th century tapestries and other items collected by William Randolph Hearst.
The DCI produced “Hearst Castle: Building a Dream” shot in 70mm and mastered in 8K for the giant screen captivates audiences with Europe’s spectacular architectural wonders, the foundation for the dream that became Hearst Castle. Inspired by his many trips to Europe’s finest castles, William Randolph Hearst created an architectural masterpiece that he furnished with priceless art treasures from around the world. “Hearst Castle: Building the Dream” tells this story.
The Hearst Castle film is included in the Experience tour of the Hearst Castle which is purchased by 75% of castle attendees.

Niagara Falls, New York
The Niagara Adventure Theater is located in the Niagara Falls State Park, Niagara Falls, NY, is the oldest state park in the USA. The State Park is centered on the awesome and mesmerizing power of Niagara Falls, this is a truly amazing attraction. Since it was established in 1885, the Park has been a must-see attraction to tens of millions of people, from adventure seekers to those who simply want to experience what is one of the natural wonders of the world.
This 314-seat theater is located inside the Niagara Falls State Parks Visitor Center and features the large format film “Niagara; Legends of Adventure” which is shown daily. The theater is included as part of the Niagara State Parks Discovery Pass which includes the Maid of the Mist, Cave of the Winds, Niagara Adventure Theater, and Niagara Aquarium.

Victoria, British Columbia
The Royal BC Museum Corporation, one of the foremost cultural institutions in the world, was founded in 1886; the archives in 1894.
These two organizations integrated in 2003 to become British Columbia’s combined provincial museum and archives, collecting artifacts, documents and specimens of BC’s natural and human history, safeguarding them for the future, and sharing them with the world.
This theater features a wide variety of IMAX films and hosts an annual membership of over 17,000 customers.

Results: Attendance at the IMAX Theater has generated significant incremental attendance to the Royal British Columbia Museum complex. In 2007, over 40% of the Royal British Columbia Museum customers purchased a combination IMAX ticket for the Titanic Exhibit.
